We are their hounds, trained to hunt
But when their game is won, we’re left to grunt
We ask for nothing more than bare bones
But they deny us even this meager loan,
We are the fools who pledge our allegiance
To those who care not for our grievances,
Blinded by loyalty, we forget our plight
Until the next betrayal comes into sight
We pledge our support to a power we don’t understand
Unaware of its intended plans
And when we’re deceived once more,
We vow not to vote anymore…
But, this defence mechanism lasts merely three years
Until the next charlatan appears
And once again, we’ll be tempted to pledge our trust
To a system that’s left us nothing but dust.
